SEATTLE—November 16, 2017—The Seattle Housing Authority has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Chicago-based Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. In a statement, GFOA said the Certificate of Achievement for SHA’s 2016 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report “is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment.”

SHA’s Report was judged by an impartial panel to have met the high standards of the GFOA program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the agency’s financial story.
