Yesterday afternoon, the House Financial Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development, and Insurance held a hearing called “A Future Without Public Housing? Examining the Trump Administration’s Efforts to Eliminate Public Housing.” Witnesses included NAHRO members Bobby Collins (Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport and the Housing Authority of the City of Winnfield), Ann Gass (Housing Authority of the City of Austin), and Eugene Jones, Jr. (Atlanta Housing). Urban Institute’s Susan Popkin and Shriver Center’s Kate Walz also testified. NAHRO will provide more details in the Feb. 15 edition of the NAHRO Monitor.
