DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
The Bellingham/Whatcom County Housing Authorities is searching for a highly motivated, self-starting individual to fill a new position of Development Coordinator. This position will facilitate development and construction activities of a rapidly growing entrepreneurial housing agency that owns and operates 1,477 low and moderate-income rental units in 37 developments and manages a 1,700-unit Section 8 HUD Voucher program.
This position requires experience and familiarity in the field of housing development, financing, project management and development modernization. Development and construction administration skills are essential. The successful candidate must have excellent organizational, listening and communication skills. Salary is $48,262 to $59,356 with excellent benefits.
Located on Bellingham Bay, the City of Bellingham is only 90 miles from the City of Seattle and 40 miles from Vancouver, Canada, home to the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Multifamily Lending Manager
$82,500 - $95,000 per year plus excellent benefits package
The Seattle Office of Housing is responsible for the City’s programs that address affordable housing in Seattle. We are recognized leaders in funding collaboration, in financing housing for homeless and low/moderate wage worker housing as well as in promoting sustainable building practices. With four voter approved housing levies and capable nonprofit partners, we have strong community support.
Primary Duties: Manage the Office of Housing Multifamily Lending Unit. Responsible for policy, program development and implementation of the rental production and preservation program. Oversee permanent funding and bridge loans in excess of $20 million annually. Leverage and maximize resources; collaborate with other funders to align capital, services and operating funding; and secure new resources for homeless and other housing projects. Participate on loan committees and housing policy groups. Promote best practices models to better serve disabled homeless individuals and families. Serve as HOME program administrator for the City. Serve on senior management team and work across program lines. Supervise five professional staff.
Required Qualifications: The equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in business administration, public policy, economics, urban planning, or related field and five years of high-level program administration experience in affordable housing finance and development. Knowledge of housing construction and federal housing program regulations. Ability to work effectively with diverse organizations and communities. Excellent oral and written communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, and spreadsheet skills. Ability to perform site inspections. WA State driver’s license and acceptable driving record or evidence of equivalent mobility. Pass criminal background check.
Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree in related field. Three years of supervisory experience. Real estate transaction experience on housing projects using a mix of financing such as the low-income housing tax credit, HOME, CDBG, tax-exempt bonds, and McKinney funding. Knowledge of supportive housing models for families and individuals. Experience in local housing policy. Experience with database and presentation software. Enthusiastic and demonstrated commitment to building strong and equitable communities.
