SENIOR ASSET MANAGER. Washington State nonprofit housing consulting firm seeks an experienced asset manager to join our diverse team. The Senior Asset Manager is a skilled affordable housing consultant. The person in this position works independently to provide direct project and portfolio assistance to owners of subsidized affordable housing. In addition to serving as a project manager on multiple projects, Senior Asset Manager roles may include mentoring, leading, coordinating, and directly performing capacity building and asset management services. Skills and direct experience in affordable housing asset management, property management, and development finance are minimum qualifications for this position. The position also includes providing technical assistance to nonprofits for both asset management and related capacity building activities. The Senior Asset Manager works independently in a dynamic work environment with teams of skilled affordable housing professionals, under the general direction of a Managing Developer.
The ideal candidate would bring experience with strategic planning, organizational development, program planning, and community development. Skills required to deliver technical assistance include: excellent listening and communication skills; ability to organize and facilitate groups; team building and conflict resolution skills; and the ability to prepare and deliver presentations and formal training sessions.
Common Ground is a nonprofit consulting agency with the mission to preserve and create housing for low income and special needs populations in Washington State. Since 1980, Common Ground has helped other nonprofits, housing authorities, and local governments to create over 4,400 units of low-income housing. Washington County seeks an Assistant Director of Housing Services to assist the Director in planning, managing, directing and coordinating the activities and operations of the department. This is an executive level position responsible for the continuity and efficiency of day-to-day operations of the Department of Housing Services, with general supervision of division managers and supervisors.
Among the desired skills and abilities, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in HUD public housing programs and administration, and general knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations. He/she should also demonstrate strengths in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of public housing and affordable housing programs, with an emphasis in development and coordination of housing-related community development, goals, strategies and outreach.
A Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, and Community Development or a related field and at least five years of affordable housing experience at the senior management level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Public Housing Manager Certification is required or must be obtained within one year of hire. Experience with mixed-income communities and in structuring creative financial packaging for development efforts such as bond and tax credit projects is desirable.
