On Thursday, September 14, the Senate voted 80-17 to confirm Pamela Patenaude as HUD Deputy Secretary. Ms. Patenaude had previously served as former HUD Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development under President George W. Bush and as the director of housing policy at the Bipartisan Policy Center. She is currently the president of the J. Ronald Terwilliger Foundation for Housing America’s Families. On Friday, September 15, Robert Hunter Kurtz was appointed the Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Public and Indian Housing. Mr. Kurtz is currently Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Programs at HUD. The White House announcement states that he has “extensive experience in housing policy, dating back to the George W. Bush Administration, and has since implemented programs at both the local and Federal levels.”
