The Chief Operations Officer (COO) functions as an executive member of the management team and has overall strategic and operational responsibility for Home Forward’s housing and service programs. The COO provides leadership related to the strategic plan and the implementation of new programmatic initiatives; serves as a liaison to Home Forward’s jurisdictional and community partners; provides support to the agency’s Board of Commissioners; and provides oversight for the development and implementation of annual departmental budgets. The COO leads and directs the following departments and functions: the Housing Choice Voucher and rent assistance programs, property management, community services, homeless initiatives, and policy & equity. The COO provides leadership to promote effective systems and practices; develops leadership capacity and succession potential among Home Forward’s staff and provides expert guidance and counsel in all areas above to the agency’s leadership and Board of Commissioners. In this context, the incumbent in this position will collaborate with others at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders in the furthering of significant goals and objectives that profoundly affect Home Forward, its employees and the people it serves.
